Insensitivity to the root cause of immorality among youths

 

The term ‘Immorality’ is the state or quality of being immoral; or simply called vice. Immoral therefore means Not moral; inconsistent with rectitude, purity, or good morals; contrary to conscience or the divine law.

morality dwells more on virtue and good conduct or good habit.

But how do we define what is good and what is not? The only source of definition for what is good is the Bible, the written word of God. In the beginning God created all things and he saw that they were good. After He created mankind He said it was very good. Gen1:4, 10, 12, 18, 21, 25 and 31.

When God created the first man and woman they were very good until the deceiver came and introduced knowledge of evil into them after they chose to eat the forbidden fruit.

Mankind became a mix of good and evil. For instance, no one has ever killed before bed t how did Cain knew that he has to get rid of his biological brother out of envy and hatred? It was the knowledge of evil in him.

Over the centuries evil has grown to capacity beyond the control of human government. Diverse means of curbing the dominance of evil are introduced through instituting law against this vice and that vice but all has been to no avail. From the Bible era to the present age mankind has tried to be good but rather we see ourselves drifting off course from time to time.

To the Israelites God gave laws and commandments but rather than it helping them it took them further from God into the lands of captivity because they lacked the capacity, that is, Grace, which can enable them gain mastery over the flesh.

Instances like rape has been on the increase within and without religious circles. Rape is becoming more alarming in the present day society and the government of the day in nations of the earth has little or no solution to it.

In some nations of the earth vices that are beyond rape are being legalised by learned and literate personalities in position of power. What used to be abnormal are now Normals in some circles. A teenage girl no longer believes in keeping her virginity before marriage. Fornication is labelled as fun and love making.

Abortion which is labelled by God as murder is legal in some nations of the earth. Some single youths are using birth prevention pills in order to prevent pregnancy thereby indulging in sexual immorality.

People in position of authority make personal use of funds meant to develop a state or country for selfish reasons thereby plunging the governed into poverty.. The root cause of all this is the knowledge of evil introduced into mankind.

God have Mercy.

Yes, God actually had mercy on us by sending the second Adam after the first Adam failed humanity. This second Adam came and destroyed the works of darkness. But until we accept Him into our lives the finished works He did will not become evident in our lives and society.

THE WORST HIT.

CHildren, teenagers and youths are the most affected in the area of immorality and the consequences. What then can we do as Parents, guardians and groups associated with these group of people.

1. Introduce them early to Jesus Christ: The Bible says “Train up a child in the way that he should go, when he is old he will not depart from it” Proverbs 22:6. Most Parents are Keen on investing in the mental and physical development of their children but little or no attention is given to the spiritual upbringing. It is good that a child receives all round training especially the spiritual which is the foundation for the mental and physical. Godliness is profitable. Spend time with your children in the Word of God explaining scriptures to them line upon line. Encourage them to ask questions and relate every lesson to life issues in the present generation. Don’t just teach Bible lessons but apply the lessons to happenings around them. Introduce the child early to receiving Jesus as his or her Lord and Saviour. Do not say they are too young to believe. The name Jesus become a strong tower to them against any form of assault. Do not say they are too young to know things, young children are visiting pornographic sites online and exposing themselves to impure views that corrupt the mind. If they are not introduced to Jesus early enough, they might get introduced to the devil by peers and internet.

2. Watch them grow: As Parents do not just teach but also watch the children grow into what you have taught him or her.

3. Be a leading and living example: Every child grows into what they see often. Do not just teach the child but make sure you as a parent practice what you teach. For instance if a mother tells her daughter to always dress decently the mother must not be seen dressing indecently before the same child. You advice a a child that alcohol is bad yet you sent him to buy you alcoholic drinks, that is not living by example. Leading an exemplary lives before your children make you a role model to them.

4. Spend time with them: In a busy society and system of our days, a lot of parent hardly say good morning and good night to their children until Saturday or Sunday. Even on those two days all you do as a parent is to take them out to buy things and see things. You need to have time for their questions and give proper and detailed responses. Do not procrastinate a question that require urgent attention otherwise your child may get wrong answers elsewhere which may be injurious to his or her upbringing.

5. Know their friends: Knowing the friends of your child and inviting them to your house will be helpful so that you know who they are teaming with. If your child doesn’t want to bring home his friend or hides them from you then there is trouble. It’s either he or she is being negatively influenced by his or her friend or afraid that you might disengage him from such. If you have positively influence your child, he or she will be willing to bring home their friends and thereby positively influencing him or her. As a parent help the friend of your child, if in some way or the other, he or she is unsound to your expectation. Do not cut off such a child because if you do he or she might be the person that will ruin the destiny of your child. Love those other children and use the platform.of your child bringing them home to also introduce them to Jesus Christ. You never can tell what that little boy will become because of you introducing him to Jesus.

6. Always spur them: Some parents are fond of demotivating their children whenever they receive poor grade from school. Most Parents change schools from time to time putting blames on teachers whereas once upon a time you told your child that he was good for nothing, a dumb, and the worst of all you compared him or her to another child. Children are like women and they respond to words and affections. Dr. Benjamin Carson was called a dumb in school but whenever he got back home his mum -an illiterate- would motivate him with encouraging words saying that he is not what people call him. Imagine a child called dullard in school and comes back home in order to receive some encouragement from the parents, met same response, how do you think he will feel? Downcast and dejected. Pay attention to the study of your child and do not leave everything to the hand of school teachers. (I will like you to watch the film ‘Like stars on the Earth’ and borrow a leaf from such)

7. Love your mate: Husband should show true love to the wife and wife should truly submit to her husband. By so doing your children will be greatly influenced to do same when they grow older and are married.

8. Truly love and serve God: The kind of attitude you show towards God is what your children will demonstrate as well. If your love temperature for God is low do not expect contrary from your child. If you love and serve God genuinely your child will follow.

9. Do not look down on underprivilege children or families: As a Parent you have all it takes to send your child to the best school in the world should not mean that you allow your child to look down on other children who are less privilege than he is. He might want to be in friendship with them in church or wherever, Please do not deny him. If he brings home such a friend to the home do not send him out else you have succeeded at building hatred in that poor child against yourself and your son. Children we despise to help up today might eventually become a timed bomb that will explode to destroy your child’s business empire in future.

10. Give a helping hand to the underprivileged so that they contribute positively to the society tomorrow.

In conclusion, as Parents, guardians and groups in charge of the younger generation, let us be spiritually sensitive to the times in which we are so as to arrest future insanity in the lives of the younger generation. Jesus enjoin us to watch and Pray not just for His coming but for the younger generation so that we are not judged for their errors.
